NORML 4/20 Freedom Forum
Ending Marijuana Prohibition

On April 20th 2009 PhillyNORML and NORML-NJ are joining together for a very special benefit featuring speakers and personalities promoting a serious discussion about ending marijuana prohibition.

These are the two local chapters of the National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws.

The event takes place at the National Constitution Center's Kirby Auditorium in Philadelphia from 2-5PM.

New Jersey is in the legislative process for a state authorized medical marijuana program. The New Jersey Compassionate Use Marijuana Act passed the state Senate on February 23rd 2009.

PA Representative Mark B. Cohen, the chair of the House Democratic Caucus, will introduce a medical marijuana bill for the Keystone State this month.

Core supporters of medical access and prohibition reform are invited to attend the event, which will include local and national celebrities, speakers from national reform groups and local non-profits.

Some of the speakers include:

  • Georgine DiMaria, Miss New Jersey 2006 event M.C.
  • ReasonTV video presentation: Video features comedian/game show host Drew Carey
  • Neill Franklin - a member of Maryland law enforcement for over 30 years, and a member of the group Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP)
