Hi Folks.....Just joined the campaign to legalize marijuana for medical use in Pennsylvania. FINALLY.....never thought this anal retentive state would even consider such a thing.

Anyway, I am living proof marijuana really works in the control of seizures caused by epilepsy.  I have been on all of the prescription drugs currently being used for epilepsy, none of which worked.  And by having seizures all the time, it was scary leaving the house or doing anything.  Now, it is as if my life has been returned to me.  Thank God.

However, you rarely see medical marijuana being used for epilepsy and I am here to SHOUT that this illness too should be thrown into the pile.  And since you rarely hear of marijuana in the treatment of epilepsy, my own family physicians dont believe it.  They know I have epilepsy, but when it came time to have surgery, the first question I was asked was what I used to control my seizures, as I am a high risk under surgery.

I didnt want to tell them, as I dont usually share this information, even with my doctors. But this time, I simply HAD to.  Well folks, I left his office with drug addiction information!  CAN YOU FREAKING BELIEVE THAT?  Lets just say, I was a little upset here.  I am an intelligent individual, one with a masters degree, so Im NOT stupid or uneducated.  Im not a criminal either.  But that was their reaction to my information.

So folks, glad to become a part of this group.  I feel at home now.  So, lets do it in Pennsyvlania!

Seizures and epilepsy are included in the list of the symptoms defined in HB 1393 that qualifies a patient to use medical marijuana.

Just curious but when did you have that experience at your doctor's office? We have a drug and addictions counselor who may be able to help. He's great at dissuading people of the myth of marijuana addiction.

I get the aural seizures mostly but same deal, MUCH more frequently when I haven't medicated for a while.  Prohibition is such a worthless scam, I hate being told how I have to live, let me choose the medicine that works for me.
