Stir It Up

« on: August 09, 2007, 11:55:21 PM »

I just got done watching a interview with a ex Gov official who when asked about addiction and marijuana said we need to understand that this is a whole new marijuana. Not the marijuana that our parents experimented with in the 60's. This is a new thing that is more addictive and very powerful. This is a drug that "devestates short term memory" and has many other very negative effects. I agree with him in that this is a new marijuana. A marijuana created to spread fear. A marijuana created out of lies. A marijuana created to generate support for a failed policy. I think the politics of Washington has devestated his short term memory.  weedpoke

If it is true that there are more potent strains around now, then the prohibitionists have only themselves to blame.  The potency of every prohibited drug always increases when it is driven under ground.  The higher the potency, the smaller the amount that needs to be carried or concealed.

But the "new pot" argument is really a fallacy.  Everyone knows there are all different strains of weed with all different potencies.   Saying there is just one "super-pot" out there now is a total lie.

I would like to know how one expects the genus or the species of a plant that has been around longer than the human race to all of a sudden say, "Hey... You know what? I don't really like being me anymore, let me jump out of my characterizing attributes just for the sole purpose of getting an ape derived, egotistical fleshy mass expected to inherit this earth a biiiiiit more inibriated under the effects of tetrahyrdocannabinol-9" at any point during its stay on our Earth. Earth. We remember Earth, right? We haven't been living in this urban jungle for so long that we forgot that trees really do grow naturally without the placement guidelines of a council? Well that Earth, my friends, has hosted our kind plant marijuana in more places and more ways than we shall ever see, even in the lieu of decriminalization, legalization, or what have you.

Entities propegating the drug war are not concerned about pot being a different strain, they're concerned with the paper companies, oil companies, drywall companies, clothing companies, rope companies, tobacco companies, etc. that all would feel a minor discomfort if the anaesthesized locale of immorally earned profit were to be performed legal surgery on, thus providing the room for cannabis to exist as the cash crop it had once been heralded.
