Millcreek man charged in marijuana case
Erie Times-News (PA)
October 13, 2007

Responding to complaints from neighbors, Millcreek Township police on Friday charged a 49-year-old Millcreek resident in a marijuana case.

The arrest of James R. Carver, of the 500 block of Oakmont Avenue, followed a three-month investigation by the police and the District Attorney's Office.

The police first got involved in August, in response to neighbors' complaints about activity in the area, Millcreek police Detective Sgt. Michael Kabasinski said.

Police charged Carver after officers executed search warrants on his house and vehicle, police said. Kabasinski said police seized 3 to 4 ounces of marijuana, several marijuana plants and $5,000 in cash. Kabasinski declined comment on whether the plants were growing inside or outside Carver's residence.

Carver is accused of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, simple possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police said Millcreek District Judge Paul Manzi arraigned Carver and jailed him in the Erie County Prison on $25,000 bond. Carver posted bond and was released from prison late Friday evening.
