Lets help our veterans and get this bill passed

Sorry about your medical problems. I do hope that they pass a National law to just allow all those who need Cannabis to be able to use it whenever needed. Our country for how great it is supposed to be does have a Draconian way of looking at things . A plant that has so much benefit to people is outlawed due to one persons crusade in the 1930's and his ignorance of its benefit to people. When you look at it , it was outlawed due to racism . Because back then it was believed by that allowing it to be legal would escalate the perceived notion that black men would be raping white women while under the influence of he " Drug" .
AND THEN , they put out the movie "Reefer Madness " to show the effects of smoking a joint affecting white people. I am amazed that to this day no one has filed suit against the government for the true banning of its use as being " Racially Motivated " . It just goes to show you what a stupid, racist white guy can do to stereo type in a false way the effects of Marijuana can have on people. And then a government goes unwittingly along with it . And then to make it worse putting in the classification it was placed in, we forced that view on other countries who want funding from us to sign on and go along with the idiotic beliefs without any proof what so ever. And if those countries do not go along with its classification then they don't get the funding they ask for.
I wonder if you did a one year study on the use of Alcohol and the illnesses ,deceases , crime, deaths, injuries , and much more that have been caused by Alcohol in that years time ,would not even come close to the same results if you did a study of the same effects using Marijuana over a 200 to 300 year period .
Now what we are left with are "legal drugs " Narcotic pain relievers , NSAIDS , and others that are truly harmful to people , But make the HUGE Phamacutical Companies Billions in profits each year selling their poisons . Think of the loss those companies would take ,if Marijuana was legalized . Many of the poisons they push ,would be found to be less effective than just one joint or bowl. And less harmful than The Drug Companies new poisons. I would bet that the Drug Companies as soon as it was legalized would start to formulate new drugs that would be chemically similar to Cannabis . And more dangerous .
Because of the "illegal status " of Marijuana in the USA it has stopped almost all testing on it. In Israel , they have one Doctor who is truly doing controlled testing on Marijuana and is finding it very effective , the problem he has run into is the amount of the THC in each dose. Because of the laws prohibit its growing ,you are limited to what you can find from one source to another . Each grower has different levels in each of there crops. So it had been hard up until now to do a good study .
My hat goes off to the Netherlands who have " not legalized it " but are tolerating it and they have found there has been less drug abuse ,and all related incidents that are caused by drug use has been less than before they have tolerated the use. And what people are not aware of you have the Portugal that has truly made it legal.And they have also found the same results, less crime, less drug abuse than before they legalized it .And there is no problem with the way they have done it.They make it illegal for those under 18 years of age to use it. Lets face it , placing an age use on it really does not work. Take Alcohol it has all had a minimum age on it at one time in the US it did go to age 18 , then when they found that crime,accidents ,injuries and all that related to a younger age of drinking INCREASED . That should tell you , that Alcohol is a dangerous drug, and at no matter what age it will always remain a dangerous drug.
I have been to the Netherlands six times and along with my children who do not smoke marijuana , and even with my observations as well as theirs they have come to the same conclusions as I did. We stayed in Hostels in Amsterdam , where at night not many people head out after a long day of sightseeing. They lay back in the common room and smoke Pot . And of all the times we were there ,and Alcohol is served in the hostels , not once did we see one fight , one out of hand argument , nothing that would support that Marijuana is dangerous . What you witness is people from all over the world taking trips to a country where smoking it is tolerated ,and no increase of violence , crime, or other instances that Alcohol would cause. What you have is a a group of people who leave their own country and fly to one that allows them to partake in something they love to do smoking a joint and relaxing and having good fun and great discussions of world topics as well as any other topics they want with no fighting involved. As a matter of fact I have witnessed and spoken with people from England who take short vacations to the Netherlands , of 2 to 4 days to unwind , sight see and smoke a joint . That should tell you something right there .
I have also talked with Americans in the Netherlands who have been on Business in England and then have take a long weekend in Amsterdam , just to go to a coffee house or hostel (which they charge them $3.00 Euros ) just to sit in the Hostel and smoke . And it is actually funny what an American goes through when leaving and heading back to the states . They go through their pockets looking for any pipe , papers, or Pot that they may have forgotten about due to the fear of what happens to them in the USA when they return should they have any illegal substances on them or in their luggage. They actually will just leave any pipe , papers or Pot right in the hostel or offer it to anyone who is not going home to the states. So if you even go to a hostel and stay about 90 % of the time you will never even have to leave to buy Pot ,since all Americans heading home will just give it to you. And god knows you will never ever have to buy papers, pipes or bongs as there is a huge assortment of smoking paraphernalia for you to use from all the Americans who have to leave it all behind .
Here I am a man in his 50's , taking his kids to a " DEN OF DRUG USERS " as most stupid people would call the hostels and coffee shops . And we all came back not addicted ,not causing any injuries or death but having a good time. And the funnest thing is that my kids don't smoke Pot. But I am able to talk to them about it and I have shown them all they were taught in the United States about POT users is not true. They learned this all from sitting back in a coffee shop or Hostel and having a great conversation with and witnessing for themselves what actually it is like to be around some one who smoked a Joint , and that they are all good people . I just wish the rest of the people of our country could do the same thing that I did with my kids. Actually taking them somewhere where POT use is allowed and being able to see what in this country is thought to be bad for you , and in another country where you have the choice to use or not.
Maybe if Pot was legalized in the USA our government officials would partake and be able to sit back and get something done that truly would benefit our people ,not just fight back and forth and have nothing done. I am just so disgusted with the way the USA handles the Marijuana Laws. The Laws need to be changed especially for the sick who would benefit from its use . But Legalize it as Alcohol and Cigarettes are. Both of which cause more harm than Marijuana . OUR GOVERNMENT NEEDS TO WAKE UP ,THEY NEED TO BE REALISTIC , THEY NEED TO MOVE ON UP INTO THE REAL WORLD WHERE PEOPLE BENEFIT FROM FROM A SIMPLE PLANT THAT BECAUSE OF CERTAIN PEOPLE WHO HAD THEIR OWN AGENDA YEARS AGO MADE IT A SCOURGE AND SOMETHING THAT NEEDED TO BE OUTLAWED. And put it on the shelves of pharmacies , and smoke shops where people have the choice to partake in it or not. The same way you have that choice with Cigarettes and Alcohol , which are more addictive and harmful then the simple plant Marijuana .
