Hello everyone,

I was glad to find your forum. I live in Humboldt County, CA (yes, I come from the land of plenty...). I am a medical cannabis patient (I have an autoimmune disease). I'm posting here because I'm going to be visiting family in the Philly area in December. I always like to try to make contact with local groups working on cannabis issues when I travel. I feel like an emissary from the promised land sometimes. There are four dispensaries in my town for medical cannabis patients, and I make edibles that are for sale here. I sometimes forget what it's like in other parts of the country.

If I can be of any use while I'm in the area, or if some of you want to hang out and just talk--I'd love to meet any and all of you good people fighting the good fight. I will just miss your meeting on December 16, or I'd stop by and say hi. I'm also open to doing an edibles demonstration if anyone wants to offer their kitchen--edibles work for some people when nothing else does and I really believe in spreading the skills.

Well, that's my intro. I hope I get to meet some of you. If not, a big thank you from the all the sufferers who need this medicine.

Welcome to the forums and to Philly when you come through. As a resident of CA who has firsthand knowledge of the way things are out there (and in your town especially where it's basically a pot-haven) could be very useful. Would you be interested in meeting with the representative or senator from the area where your family resides and talking to them about your experience out in CA with legal medical MJ? Sometimes they forget what we're really talking about here, and to see someone who uses it legally talk about their experience can go a long way.

Cool... you can use this page http://www.phillynorml.org/involve/contact_officials/10 to find out exactly who your legislators are. Just put in your ZIP code and it'll tell you who you need to call. It's possible you'll be able to get a meeting with one of them, if you tell them you're a constituent they'll be more likely to get you in there. Let us know if you do get one set up, we can attend with you if you like or can help by providing some info. Whatever you're more comfortable with. I'm sure coming from Humbolt you don't have any compunctions about talking about it unapologetically, which a lot of advocates get tricked into doing.
