FYI the Democratic candidate from my new location in Warminster is Ruth Damsker. She testified in favor of HB1393 with JSPAN at the first HHS hearing.

A lot of them came from remarks made in the press, or were responses from candidates or their campaign when I asked them, and a lot came from asking them by calling in or e-mailing when they were on a local AM radio station, WKOK 1070 AM's show On The Mark. I can get audio clips if anyone needs them, haven't cited this thing yet because I've been pretty busy lately.
I've been updating it, today I added that Democratic state House candidate for the 85th district Trey Casimir has come out in favor of legalizing recreational marijuana, which he stated on the radio this morning. You can hear this here, Trey Casimir starts talking about marijuana 51 minutes 11 seconds into it: http://www.mediafire.com/file/e4ftt19w68vsf28/OTMWednesday%2010-27-10%20-%20Sestak%20and%20Trey%20Casimir.mp3
His Libertarian opponent is also for legalizing medical and recreational marijuana, as well as for industrial hemp, Casimir did not make a statement on hemp. Viker and Casimir face Republican Fred Keller, who is opposed to any kind of marijuana legalization.
Thanks for the info Derek, I added the 12th district's state senate race info. I couldn't find any info for Greenleaf, but that would be great if he did support it with a name like that  laugh

Well, I think greenleaf's open to the idea. I met with his executive director/legislative aide along wih a nurse and 2 patients and  we spoke at length on the subject.  I have a meeting scheduled for Nov.18 to meet with the senator himself, so hopefully, regardless if he wins or loses, we should gain his support.

I hope Seth Grove gets ousted.  Marijuana opinion aside, I did not like the way he presented or handled himself at the first 1393 hearing.

I think he was the brain who came up with the idea of marijuana "clinics" similar to dialysis clinics where people could go, smoke, and then leave, but it would still be illegal everywhere else.  Brilliant!

After the GOP takeover of the US and PA Houses, and the solid defeat of California's Prop 19, the prospects for medical marijuana or industrial hemp are significantly diminished.  Chuck Homan is headed for prison, either directly or via a PV (probation violation) after he fails to kick his addiction, and NORML continues to be the face and voice of stoners rather than doers and thinkers.  A drastically revamped strategy is needed.  How do advocates proceed in this Brave New World?

I feel like we need a big political ally and the media's cooperation.  Until the masses are spoon fed the truth about marijuana we're going to get nowhere, and unfortunately, it doesn't seem that the majority can be depended upon to form their own opinions through independent research.

A pessimistic outlook, but after Tuesday I don't feel an optimistic outlook is very realistic.

State Rep. Costa faces marijuana charge

By Pittsburgh Tribune-Review
Tuesday, November 16, 2010
Last updated: 5:21 pm

State Rep. Paul Costa was cited for smoking marijuana during a tailgate party in a parking lot outside a Pittsburgh Steelers game last month.

An undercover city police officer was patrolling the parking lots outside the Steelers-Baltimore Ravens game on Oct. 3 when he said he saw Costa and another man passing a marijuana cigarette back and forth, said Costa’s attorney, Phil DiLucente.

Costa, a Democrat from Wilkins, was charged with one count of prohibited acts and faces a hearing Nov. 24.

Costa serves the 34th District and is a member of the House Committee on Liquor Control.
