Welcome, come watch the paint dry with the rest of us while nothing comes of our attempts to pass HB1393.

I am new here too. And i guess i am not very comoputer litterate, i have had a time making my way through this site! lolol
My name is linda. Early Nov, 2009, I got a call from my mother to tell me that the San Diego cororner had phoned my father to let him know that they found my then 52 year old brother dead in his home. We had known that he was sick, but not as sick as he really was. i just know that when i would talk to him, he would tell me that he could not eat! had no appetite! had a fistula and abcesses. It sounded like the Crohns' I HAD! 'We should be tested!' 'NO I DON'T HAVE CROHNS AND I WOULDN'T PUT THAT TOXIC SHIT IN MY BODY!' (remicade like i did)
He had been living in San Diego for over 30 years now and was VEGAN. When i suggested that he smoke cannabis like i did to help with the need to eat and the nausea he would say NO! I WANT TO BE SOBER! I told him how it sooo helped me! But he refused, and was living in a medical marijuana state! We just can't have medical marijuana when there is still a stigma! People in need won't utilize it because it is STILL ILLEGAL! AND YOU CAN STILL GET ARRESTED! So he REFUSED and now is dead! His death certificate read MALNUTRITION as a cause of death! no one should die that way in this day and age! ESPECIALLY in a medical marijuana state!
In 2007 we found out, when i went'sober' to change jobs, that I had crohns! I do my remicade every 5/6 weeks, we are still working on the numbers. But i find if i DON'T smoke daily, the treatment DOESN'T take properly! And I need it more frequently. And the doctor even admitted, this is toxic along with the purinthal i have to take to keep from REJECTING the REMICADE treatments! I am on enough meds for ENOUGH issues and i don't want anymore! I just need help with the ones i am on!
I ran out of smoke last week and was sick as a dog by the 4th day. I had no appetite nor could i fake my self into thinking i was hungry! I finally got smoke and was in bed 'recharging' myself by 4:20. By 'dinner' i was eating happily again! i am making an appointment with my gastro to let him know how helpful cannabis has been in my treatment. he DOUBLED this toxic dose cause i was soo sick! i have to have him take it back down! and go with me to WASHINGTON to fight for our rights!
I also can't let my brother's death just go like this! There has to be a reason! I have never been a drinker and now that i am 'older' i am on a lot of meds that say DO NOT DRINK WHILE TAKING THIS MEICATION. so i don't! but believe i can relax the way i feel best relaxing! If i have a drink, that fills me up a bit and i might not eat REAL food that i need to eat! All I know is that since i have turned 50 I can't stand it! THIS IS PROHIBITION AND I WON'T STAND FOR IT!
Thank you for reading and HELLO again......
Linda

Prohibition...goes beyond the bounds of reason in that it attempts to control a man's appetite by legislation and makes a crime out of things that are not crimes. "A prohibition law strikes a blow at the very principles upon which our government was founded" Abraham Lincoln December, 1840
