Grass -- Ron Mann's documentary successfully summarizes the history of US marijuana prohibition while sidestepping conspiracy theories. Funny, startling, and inspiring, Grass weaves together file footage, government propaganda, narration by Woody Harrelson, and snappy artwork by Paul Mavrides. A must-see. ~ Trisha

Reefer Madness -- A classic 1937 government scare film that became a cult hit when re-released in the early 1970's. Since it's a little slow and plodding by itself, we suggest you purchase it as part of Something Weird's THC Compilation which includes the government films Assassin of Youth and Marihuana. You can also buy a cheaper remastered version with hilarious audio commentary by Mystery Science Theater's Mike Nelson. ~ Trisha

Homegrown -- Billy Bob Thornton stars in this black comedy about a group of marijuana farmers who become tangled in a web of murder, deceit, and greed after they unwittingly inherit a crimelord's commercial cannabis crop. The film presents a fairly balanced view of the dangers of illegal distribution without portraying the principal characters as arch villains. ~ Trisha

High Times Presents The Cannabis Cup -- If you've never attended High Times' Cannabis Cup in Amsterdam (which I haven't), this DVD is the probably next best thing to being there. Brimming with funny parody clips, political musings, music, and yes, marijuana smokers, the DVD will make a great gift for the cannabis lover in your life. ~ Trisha
